WHY UPTOWN
MINNEAPOLIS?

Centered at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street, Uptown is a tapestry of diverse businesses that have seen a lot of ups and downs over the years.

The neighboring community has been steadfast in its support of local businesses and those that have stood the test of time remain pillars of the retail landscape.

Uptown is also a place of historical significance for Minneapolis - where inequalities have been challenged and people have stepped up to create change.

*What is known today as Uptown is Wahpekute of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Dakota people. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we are on today and pay our respect to their elders past, present and emerging. We also support the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of indigenous peoples in Minnesota. And lastly, we commit to working with Native small business owners in collaboration with organizations like MNIBA.
