About Us
A Space Built for Uptown
True North Studio started with a simple idea: Uptown Minneapolis needed a place where coffee, art, and community could share the same room. Rather than build that idea alone, we brought together three independent, Minnesota-grown businesses, Curioso Coffee Bar, ARTrageous Adventures, and Lucent Blue Events + Design, and gave them a shared home at Seven Points on Hennepin Avenue.
What We Believe
We believe that in a world that has shifted towards digital communication, people crave community and in-person interaction. Our studio is a space to be present in the moment, explore new ideas, meet new people, and build community. We aim to showcase the true essence of the North, and we feature a wide array of artists and diverse small businesses based right here in Minnesota. We collaborate with artists as well as woman-owned, BIPOC-owned, and LGBTQIA-owned local brands, to create an inviting and integral space that offers creative programming, tasty treats, coffee, and community.
Curioso Coffee Bar
Curioso Coffee Bar pours the coffee inside True North Studio and the cafe also offers beer, wine, and a selection of tasty eats.. Curioso is a Minneapolis coffee company built on localism, sustainability, and a love of the Twin Cities arts and music scene, and their Uptown bar sits right at the front of our space. Curioso roasts its own coffee fresh every week under music-inspired names, Organica, Big Band, Soul Train, Grunge, and the decaf Smooth Jazz, sourced from small producers around the world, and the company runs on a closed-loop philosophy of composting, recycling, and reusable containers. Curioso Coffee Bar: Uptown, inside True North Studio, is one of two Curioso locations in the Twin Cities.
ARTrageous Adventures
ARTrageous Adventures is a full-service art studio with a mission to unleash the creative power within people of all ages, connecting them to themselves, their community, and the diversity of the world. Their belief is simple: living is an art, and you should live life ARTrageously. At True North Studio, ARTrageous Adventures runs Open Studio Hours, monthly themed art projects, a rotating gallery of local artists, and custom parties and events, all built on the same idea that creativity belongs to everyone, not just people who already call themselves artists.
Lucent Blue Events + Design
As an award-winning events + experiential marketing firm, Lucent Blue Events + Design creates internal and external engagement strategies and unforgettable experiences for corporate, nonprofit, and social clients across the United States. At True North, Lucent Blue creates and executes creative pop-up experiences and manages the event rental program.
Who You'll Meet Here
Our regulars are neighborhood locals, alongside young urban creatives, college students, young professionals, and young families. We also welcome the Millennials, Gen Xers, and Baby Boomers who remember a bustling, creative Uptown and want to see that energy return. Whoever you are, if you value community and creativity, you belong here.
